Verkosto 2021 trade fair to be held in Tampere in October 2021
Verkosto 2021, the trade fair for energy and information network professionals, will take place at Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre on October 6–7, 2021. The theme of the fair will be smart and responsible networks. Verkosto 2021 will be organised by Tampere Trade Fairs Ltd together with Finnish Energy, Adato Energia Oy, Teleprikaati Oy, Tieturi Oy, Finnish District Heating and Cooling Association FinDHC ry, and Finnish Work Safety Association STYL ry. The partner company for Verkosto 2021 will be Tampereen Sähkölaitos.
The trade fair and event industry believe that trade fair activities will resume after summer with the improved pandemic situation, expanded vaccination coverage and, hopefully, relieved restrictions on public events. Tampere Trade Fairs will launch their event season with three trade fairs in early September. Verkosto 2021, held in October, will be the fourth trade fair in the autumn.
– We are preparing for the autumn events and October’s Verkosto trade fair with confidence. We are following the authorities’ guidelines daily and preparing for a health-secure implementation of these events. As a responsible organiser of events, we are able to organise safe arrangements and comply with restrictions in our big event halls. According to feedback from operators in the industry, they also have faith in our ability to finally meet face to face in autumn, says Tuija Sievola, project manager for the Verkosto trade fair at Tampere Trade Fairs Ltd.
The theme for Verkosto 2021, organised for the 14th time this year, will be smart and responsible networks seen from the perspective of partner networks, network construction, and responsible environmental solutions. Verkosto 2021 will be organised as a hybrid event where some of the theme and programme are uploaded online but the actual networking and contact acquisition takes place at the trade fair halls.
Third awarding of the Network Initiative of the Year recognition – with a responsibility theme
The winner of the Network Initiative of the Year 2021 award will be published at autumn’s Verkosto trade fair. The award, given out for the third time, is a recognition by Tampere Trade Fairs and Finnish Energy for exemplary operators in the steadily growing energy and information network industry. The theme of this year’s award will be responsibility.
The winner of the Network Initiative of the Year award may be a project, programme, product, or service that has created or will create something new in the responsibility section. Responsibility is conceived here as a broad concept including the environmental aspects of network-related production, quality, reliability, and sustainability but also responsibly implemented and managed work where the entire chain of production, from planning to tools and workers to implementation, operates responsibly and safely. The responsibility networking initiative holder complies with corporate social responsibility, prepares for the future, and acknowledges renewable sources of energy in their operations. Responsibility initiatives may be very diverse, small and innovative projects or large and far-reaching endeavours. Some examples include the security manifest launched at the last trade fair, green deal agreements for sustainable demolition and the machine-tool industry, or diminishing the use of undesirable substances in purchases. The initiative may also be a tangible service related to the theme.
Proposals for the winner of the Networking Initiative of the Year 2021 award may be sent to the e-mail address tuija.sievola(a)tampereenmessut.fi until Monday August 16, 2021 at 12:00 noon.
